Teeth whitening is the most popular and most demanded cosmetic treatment available through our cosmetic dentist. We should be aware though that teeth whitening and teeth bleaching are actually two different treatment options.
When we talk of teeth whitening we mean procedures such as the regular oral prophylaxis, surface cleaning and removal of extrinsic stains thus restoring the natural color of the teeth.
Teeth bleaching on the other hand involves the use of chemical bleaching agents such containing hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide thus whitening the teeth beyond its natural color.
Well they may be two different procedures but they both pertain to the making whiter and brighter smiles so it’s quite acceptable to interchange.
